Comp titles and positioning
Every query letter and storefront listing needs a clear sense of where your book sits. Bookshaper derives ranked comparable titles from your manuscript’s themes, pacing, POV, and voice, each checked by web search for its real publication year, publisher, and sales tier (web checking runs on Anthropic models only; titles from other providers come back marked Unverified, and the view asks you to check them before citing), with a publishing-path toggle for trad-published comps (query letters) or indie comps (storefront marketing). Discoverability tropes are derived from your themes, character archetypes, pacing, and conflict — each with a note on where it shows up in your book, from a genre-keyed taxonomy plus a universal set. Pinned comps and confirmed tropes feed your blurbs, retailer keywords, and query letter automatically.
