Openers and closers
The first line of the book, and the lines that open and close each chapter and scene.
Pull quote generator
Bookshaper finds the lines worth sharing in your manuscript and sets them as ready-to-post images for Instagram, stories, Facebook and your newsletter.
Free trial. Making and exporting quote cards uses no credits.
Finding the lines
Up to 60 candidates drawn from the places strong lines tend to live, each one between 6 and 25 words, or up to 40 on a Portrait card.
The first line of the book, and the lines that open and close each chapter and scene.
Lines from the scenes your analysis marks as the most charged.
Right-click any sentence while you write and mark it as a quote candidate.
Type or paste any passage to add it to the list.
The end of the book is held back by default, so a card never gives the ending away.
For 1 credit, reorder the list by how well each line stands alone.

Making the cards
Cards take the fonts and ornament of your book's interior design, so your social posts look like your book.
2000 × 2000 for feeds.
1080 × 1350, with room for longer lines.
1080 × 1920 for stories and reels.
1200 × 628 for link previews and headers.
Preset or custom accent colors, on a light or dark card.
Select the quotes you want and download them all as a zip of PNGs.
The short version
It surfaces candidates from your manuscript: opening lines, chapter and scene openers and closers, high-tension moments, and any line you have marked as a quote candidate. You can also add a passage of your own.
Finding candidates does not. An optional re-rank, for 1 credit, reorders them by how well each line stands on its own. Without it, the cards work exactly the same.
Not by default. Passages from the last 15% of the book are hidden, and you can move that cutoff with a slider.
Square at 2000 by 2000 pixels, Portrait at 1080 by 1350, Story at 1080 by 1920, and Wide at 1200 by 628. Download one card as a PNG, or several as a zip.
Yes. Cards use your book's typeface and ornament, with a choice of accent color, a light or dark theme, an attribution strip with title and author, and an optional cover thumbnail.
