What Retail Metadata does
Retail Metadata drafts the storefront material a retailer asks for when you publish: a book description for each retailer, KDP keywords and browse categories, and an Amazon Author Central bio. It works from the analysis you have already run, so every piece is grounded in your manuscript.
Each tab is one job. Generate a draft, then edit it — everything saves with your project as you type.
The generators read your chapter synopses. Run chapter analysis first if your chapters don't have them yet.
Descriptions
One click drafts three descriptions: Amazon, Kobo, and Barnes & Noble. Switch between them and edit the selected one in place. The toolbar offers only what that retailer's description field accepts — on Amazon, bold, italic, underline, headings, and bulleted or numbered lists; on Barnes & Noble, bold and italic; on Kobo, bold, italic, underline, and bulleted or numbered lists — and anything else is dropped when you paste. Kobo's description field won't take typed HTML, so Kobo's copy button copies formatted text you paste straight into Kobo's editor.
The editor is styled the way each store's product page shows the description, so paragraph spacing and lists look as they will live. The count above it is measured the way the retailer measures: Amazon's 4,000-character limit counts the HTML tags too. Copy HTML puts exactly what Amazon's or Barnes & Noble's field takes on your clipboard; for Kobo, Copy formatted puts rich text there instead.
Keywords
KDP gives you seven keyword boxes of up to 50 characters each. Bookshaper proposes 20 candidates drawn from your genre, themes, characters, and synopses, each with a one-line reason. Check the ones that fit, or type your own into a box.
Regenerating replaces the candidates and keeps the keywords you selected.
Categories
Bookshaper recommends three KDP browse categories, each a real Amazon browse path. Search the full taxonomy to mix in your own. KDP has you pick categories from its own browser during setup, so Copy Selected gives you the paths to find there.
Author bio
Draft a short third-person Author Central bio from your project details, with optional tone guidance. Author Central doesn't allow links, so the tab flags any and can strip them in one click.
