Market

Blurbs, Retail Metadata, trope tags, pull quotes, reader magnets, and the reading-group guide.

Blurbs drafts back-cover copy and a one-line tagline from your manuscript, for you to rewrite in your voice — or start from blank cards and write your own, with Marketing copy switched off or on. The blurb feeds the back cover and the tagline feeds the front and the one-sheet, so the words you settle on here travel with the book.

Marketing blurb generator

Generate AI-powered cover copy—a back-cover blurb and a tagline—from your manuscript’s genre, themes, characters, and stakes, with “For fans of…” hooks built from your pinned comp titles and confirmed tropes. Edit the results to match your voice, with word counts against the recommended range and writing checks that flag clichés and weak openers as you type. Drafting is voice-aware when a style profile exists. One-click copy for paste into KDP, your website, or a query letter. Retailer listing descriptions are generated separately, per retailer, in Retail Metadata.

Retail Metadata

One pass turns your book into a complete KDP submission package: per-retailer product descriptions — Amazon (HTML allowlist), Barnes & Noble (smaller subset), Kobo (formatted text, copied as rich text for Kobo’s editor) — each edited in place with only the formatting that store accepts, styled the way its product page shows it; 20 keyword candidates for KDP’s seven keyword boxes, drawn from your genre, themes, characters, and synopses, each with a one-line rationale; three KDP browse-category recommendations grounded in the full Amazon taxonomy, searchable offline; and an Amazon Author Central bio with a no-links validator. One-click copy of everything for paste into KDP.

Trope tags

Open Trope Tags under Positioning in Market and choose Derive Trope Tags. Bookshaper matches your existing analysis (themes, archetypes, synopses) against a list of reader-facing tropes for your genre and suggests the ones that fit. Confirm the ones you agree with, dismiss the rest, or use "Add a trope of your own…". Copy Confirmed puts your confirmed list on the clipboard.

Only confirmed tropes are used elsewhere. They go into blurb generation, KDP keyword generation and the comp title search. Regenerate Tropes keeps your confirmed, custom and dismissed tropes; Show dismissed brings dismissed ones back into view. Deriving tropes needs the Marketing copy AI feature switched on.

Pull Quotes

Surfaces your most quotable passages — the opening line, chapter openers and closers, scene closers, high-tension beats, and any line you right-click to mark while writing — with an optional one-tap AI re-rank by how well each stands alone. Cards inherit your book’s body typeface and ornament, export at Square, Portrait, Story, and Wide sizes, carry an optional attribution strip and cover thumbnail, and download as print-quality PNGs — one card, or a zip of several. A spoiler guard excludes passages from the end of the book by default.

Reader magnets and reading-group guide

Reader magnets in four flavors — deleted/extended scene, character interview, prequel/backstory, and world/lore guide — derived from your manuscript: a character interview is one click from a character record, and a world guide compiles from your locations and notebook. The reading-group guide gives about a dozen discussion questions grouped into Themes, Characters, and Structure. Magnets stay early-book so they cannot reveal the ending, while the guide engages it the way a real book-club guide does. Drafts are saved with your project to edit and regenerate; append the guide to your back matter, or export either as a BookFunnel / StoryOrigin-ready EPUB or PDF in your book’s own style.
